The Tea Party Movement scares the shit out of me for two reasons: First, they are almost catastrophically stupid. And second, the right maniac could actually use their ignorance to organize them. I imagine this is the way that fascism started in post World War I Germany. Dress your anger up in nationalist clothing and sell it to a beaten and economically struggling populace. Sound familiar?

The US Supreme Court recently ruled that corporations should be able to contribute directly to political campaigns. Their caveat to this otherwise astoundingly catastrophic decision was this: When corporations contribute to campaigns legally purchase their politicians they must make public their contribution bribes. Amazing, right? More big corporate money inserted into the political process. How can this be bad?
