dangerous ink relaunch!

As most of you will know, we’ve secured a deal with our new North American distributor to put Dangerous Ink into the whole Barnes and Noble chain, which is a major boon for us!
Since we’re a non-profit magazine, our marketing and advertising team is currently running at the minimum level.  We’re having to change our ways of generating advertising revenue to get the kind of income to increase our print run to the much larger figure it needs to be to service both B&N and Borders Books. 

To make sure that we make the absolute most of our B&N deal, and with the support of our distributors, we’ve decided to delay issue 5 and relaunch the whole mag for North America in January ’09.  We’re pooling our resources, and making sure we can secure the future of Dangerous Ink, not by the issue-by-issue basis it’s at now, by in terms of years.  We’re the only U.K arts magazine with a newsstand deal in the States, and it’ll be a huge mistake if we go in half-cocked.  This is for the long term promotion of U.K arts in the U.S, and vice-versa, and who knows when another opportunity like this may come along.

website revamp

If you hadn't already guessed, we are currently in the middle of a new site revamp (sorry if you've clicked any duff link, but please let us know if you have, and where they are). We're going to put the entire back catalogue of interviews, reviews, features, cartoons, comics, and gallery pieces online.
Oh yes!

Of course, it may take a while, but we're cracking on bit by bit. Most of issue 1 should be online now, then we start on 2, then 3, with a cheeky preview of issue 4 for dessert.

issue 4 off to print!

Yup, issue 4 is now in the hands of our capable printers, and should be with our distributors on July the 11th. In lay terms, we should be in the shop by the middle of the following week in the UK, and around 10-14 days later in the US and abroad.
